FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to refrigerate my syrup?

Yes — refrigeration is recommended. Because my syrups are made with no preservatives, keeping them cold helps maintain freshness and quality. Please store in the refrigerator upon receipt and keep refrigerated after opening.

How long are the syrups good for?

My syrups are freshest within 30 days of the made date, which is hand-written on every label. They can last 30–60 days, but always keep an eye out for any signs of mold. When in doubt, throw it out — fresh is always best!

My syrup is solid — is that normal?

Yes! The dairy-containing syrups (Cupcake and Brown Butter) and Cookie Butter can solidify when cold. They just need a slight warm-up before use — run the bottle under warm water or leave it out on the counter for a little while and it will return to liquid form. Good as new!

What is a 2:1 rich syrup?

A 2:1 rich syrup uses two parts sugar to one part water, making it more concentrated than a standard simple syrup. This means you use less per drink, each bottle lasts longer, and the flavor is more intense. The higher sugar ratio also naturally extends shelf stability without any added preservatives.

What’s the difference between your syrups and store-bought ones?

Most popular store-bought syrups are made with artificial flavors, artificial colors, and preservatives — and many don’t contain the actual ingredient on the label. My syrups are the opposite: real lavender, real vanilla beans, real pecans, real ginger. No artificial anything. Here’s a quick comparison:

  • Popular store-bought syrups: Artificial flavors, artificial colors (FD&C dyes), preservatives, 1:1 ratio (less concentrated)
  • Christina’s Organic Syrups: Real organic ingredients, dye-free, no preservatives, 2:1 rich syrup (more concentrated, more flavor)

You can taste the difference immediately. Once you try a lavender latte made with real lavender, there’s no going back.

Do you offer sugar-free syrups?

Not at this time!

Are your syrups organic?

Almost all of my syrups are made with certified organic ingredients and are labeled accordingly. The one exception is Cookie Butter, which contains conventional Biscoff cookies and is clearly labeled as non-organic.

Do your syrups contain allergens?

Some do — please check each product page carefully. Products containing tree nuts (pecan, coconut, pistachio, almond), wheat/gluten (Cookie Butter), or milk (Cupcake, Brown Butter) are clearly labeled. My kitchen handles all of these allergens, so cross-contamination is possible.

Are your syrups gluten-free?

All ingredients are listed on each product page so you can check for yourself. Currently, all flavors are gluten-free with the exception of Cookie Butter, which contains Biscoff cookies and is clearly labeled as containing wheat/gluten. Please note that I use one kitchen for all of my syrups, so cross-contamination is possible for those with severe gluten sensitivities or celiac disease.

How much syrup should I use per drink?

I typically suggest using 1 tablespoon but it’s completely up to you and your tastebuds! I won’t judge!

Can I use these syrups in food as well as drinks?

Absolutely! My syrups are wonderful on pancakes, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, and ice cream — anywhere you want a touch of natural sweetness with real flavor.

Do you offer gift wrapping or gift notes?

I can include a personal gift note with your order! Just let me know what you’d like it to say in the order notes at checkout and I’ll take care of it.

Can I request a custom flavor?

Not at this time — but don’t worry, flavor development is always happening! Follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok at @christinasorganic to be the first to know when new flavors drop.

Do you sell wholesale or to businesses?

Yes! I do work with businesses. Please email me for more information and we can talk through what works for you.

Do you sell at any local markets or pop-ups?

I do from time to time! Lately I’ve been most focused on keeping Hilltop Coffee Shop stocked and building my online store, but I love a good market. Follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok at @christinasorganic for updates on any upcoming pop-ups or market appearances.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes! Most of my syrups ship anywhere in the continental US. Dairy-containing syrups (Cupcake and Brown Butter) are available for local pickup only in the Argyle/Northlake, TX area.

When can I place an order?

I open orders Monday through Friday. Orders are made fresh the following week and shipped once ready. This keeps everything small-batch and made to order — never sitting on a shelf.

How do I pay for local pickup?

Pay via Zelle or Venmo at @christinasorganic and I’ll reach out to schedule your pickup time in the Argyle/Northlake area.

I have a question not answered here — how do I reach you?
